Demand for this connector arose from the countertop industry, where the development of HPL and compact laminate materials, typically around 13mm thick, created the need for a mechanical fastener capable of securely pulling and holding these slim surfaces together. The 18.300 also features a different drive system, requiring a T25 Torx bit, which provides extremely positive engagement within the drive housing.
